Here you can find a general breakdown of Gloople's main functions and capabilities, and a little explaination of the purpose behind them.
Categories
Categories are the primary method that your customers will navigate the store. The initial categories that you add will become the main navigation of the site.
You can add sub-categories to parent categories, which will appear underneath when a customer hovers over the link.
Back to TopProducts
The Meta-Data area provides you with the option of inputting information specific to each product, which will be read by search engines and help your site’s SEO (search engine optimisation).

Variants and Attributes are the available options that you can assign to a product for customers to view. For example you could create a size variant, and assign the small, medium and large attributes to a product.
Setting up Variants/Attributes
Assigning Variants to a Product, and Editing the Attribute Stock Levels

In the Stock Control area you can enter in your stock levels, low level limit, SKU codes and prices. You can do this for each attribute you assigned to a product when adding variants.

Tag Groups and Tags are a way for your customer to browse products based on a criteria of their choice. For example, when browsing through products the customer may wish to only browse products from a particular brand, and can do so by clicking a specific brand tag in the brand tag group, which is positioned on the left of the product listing page.
You can assign Related Products to a product you are listing, which the customer will be able to see whilst viewing a product.
Back to TopPages & News
Outside of the main store functionality, you also have the ability to create extra pages and a news page to keep your customers updated about what’s happening with your business. A common use of the page feature would be to create an about page for your business, which can be edited using your site's CMS.
Back to TopGroupBuy
GroupBuy allows you to sell a product at a reduced price for a period of time (no longer than five days). Customers recieve a discount on the product once the required number of purchases have been made. The amount by which you reduce the product, and the amount of purchases required to apply the set discount, is et by you in the store CMS.
Back to TopPromotional Codes
Promotional codes can be used in three ways:
- An order is equal to or over a sub-total that you set in the CMS (this can be set to zero).
- Cart contains a certain product that you have indicated can be reduced if a code is used.
- Cart contains products from a category that you have specified to be reduced with a code
You can assign any name to the promotional code, and choose whether it is always available or only for a specified time period.
Back to TopAffiliates
Affiliates are other businesses who wish to advertise your store on their website. They can do this by registering as an affiliate on your store, then taking the banner code that is provided to them. You can create multiple banners in the CMS, for your affiliates to choose from. You can also track the traffic and payments generated by your affiliates using your banners.
Back to TopLayout Manager
You can customise the front page of your store using the layout manger. Choose from several layouts, and personalize the page with your own images by uploading them directly via the CMS. You can save several of your own layouts to use as and when you please.
